Florida darkwave band Astari Nite just dropped the new single "Necessity Meal". From first listen, I really enjoyed this absolute banger of a song. It's got just the right amount of reverb on the vocals, bizarre guitar and synth sounds, and melodic elements. But then I started to dig a little deeper, and really listened to the lyrics. This song has just so much punk type attitude and pent up emotion in it. There's so many colorful metaphors that really capture the essence of being made to feel inferior. The chorus is so beautifully melodic, and, "Thank you for the guilt", is just such an angsty way of saying fuck you to anyone or anything that has ever looked down upon them. And I absolutely love it. I highly recommend this one!
