I don't know how this one went under my radar, but four days ago blackened deathcore band Mental Cruelty dropped a new single called "Forgotten Kings". This song is off of their upcoming "Zwielicht" album that's set to be released June 23rd. This is absolutely freakin brutal! The range of their vocalist's voice is insane! He can go from black metal shrieks to the piglike squeals of deathcore in about 2 seconds flat. The drums are absolutely bangin! The guitars and bass have some insane complexity going on. They go from very fast technical work to some djenty almost doomy slower notes without missing a beat, and the solo is just so good! Then we've also got these keys playing with the sounds of some very dramatic symphonic lines, which just add another level of badassery to this tune. The video is really visually interested, a bit gross, and a bit disturbing. It's very ritualistic, which fits so well with the music. I really can't say enough good about it. This song is fantastic. I look forward to hearing the rest of the album. ~Gangis
