Blood and Honey (Movie Review)

The long-awaited Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey film has finally made it to streaming services, and I couldn't possibly be happier with it! Holy shit! For the tiny budget they had, it's incredible. I feel like they were very smart in how they minimized costs while maximizing brutality, gorgeous cinematic effects, and badassery. The kills are gross, bloody, and make one hell of an impact. One thing that really stood out to me was this films use of creative lighting to give a lot of depth and really just give the movie some extra oomph. While the Pooh and Piglet character makeups were a little on the cheesy side, I actually applaud that choice. A lot of small budget horror flicks waste their entire budget on makeup which causes deficits in other areas like fx. So bravo to the makers of this movie for doing it smart. I especially loved the way they filmed underwater. That's not something I've seen done quite like that before. I also particularly enjoyed the way they used a combination of practical and cg effects. They did what they could practically, and then left the trickier stuff up to the editing. Also just the whole idea of the story is just fucking hysterical. All I can say is Pooh, you silly old bear! Definitely go check this one out! ~Gangis
