Q: Introduce yourselves
A: We’re Federica and Kevin—partners in both life and music. Our bond is deeply rooted in a shared passion for dark, atmospheric sounds.
Q: How did you come up with your band name?
A: Plastik Noir is a twist on the French phrase Plastique Noir, meaning “black plastic.” Our mascot—a figure wrapped in black plastic bags and tape—naturally led to the name. It has a striking, memorable sound, and we liked how it carries across different languages.
Q: How would you describe your sound?
A: Raw and organic. We avoid overproduction and handle every aspect ourselves, which gives us full creative control and keeps the music honest.
Q: Is there a good local scene where you are in Norway?
A: When we started, we weren’t too familiar with the Goth scene here—aside from a DJ collective called Grottegoth. But as we've connected with more people, we’ve seen a genuine appreciation for this kind of music. The support we receive is overwhelming—it often leaves us speechless.
Q: Did the release date of your Whispers From The Attic album, May 30th, have any significance?
A: Not particularly—it was pure coincidence. It just happened to be one week after our debut live performance.
Q: If you could sum up the message behind that album in a few words, what would you say?
A: It’s a journey through profound sorrow.
Q: Tell me about the cover art.
A: The house symbolizes the mind—abandoned and damaged. It visually reflects the themes explored in the lyrics.
Q: How long were you working on the album? Did you run into any difficulties?
We spent a few months on it, and surprisingly, everything flowed smoothly. No setbacks—just pure emotion poured into every note.
Q: What is some of the first darker music you remember hearing?
That’s a tough one! But the band that left the biggest impression on us was Bathory.
Q: How did you start making music?
We've both been drawn to music from a young age. Playing instruments once felt out of reach, but we each found our path. Music has become our most powerful form of expression.
Q: If you were an ice cream flavor, what would you be, and why?
A: Dark chocolate—naturally.
Q: What message do you have for anyone reading this?
A: Whatever you choose to do, make sure you're doing it for yourself first. It’s never too late to start something new—or return to something you’ve left behind.
