Unhappily Ever Now - To The Light (Single Review)

Unhappily Ever Now recently released a new song "To The Light". Right away from the title and the cover I got a little misty eyed. Then I listened to it and full on cried. Losing a pet is truly one of the most painful things life throws at us, and I truly feel for everyone whose gone through it.  Pets get us through the best and the worst moments. It's a beautiful thing that this cat has been immortalized in song. Due to some beautiful lyrical craftsmanship, even people who never met this cat will feel how the artist loved him and feel that heartache. The layered vocals really add a great melancholic feel and sound like a callback to 90's alt rock. Also guitar solos are underutilized in modern music, especially dark music, so kudos for that. I love me a good guitar solo. This song is a perfect illustration of this terrible loss, and it is so well done. I definitely recommend having tissues nearby when you listen to it though.
