The new Curse Mackey album "Imaginary Enemies" comes out on July 25th, and you won't want to sleep on this one! It's so good! n order to understand this album better, I decided to check out the "Instant Exorcism" and "Immoral Emporium" albums, as this new one is the third in this trilogy. While the three come together to paint an interesting picture of humanity, this new album is quite different from the other two with its overarching themes of redemption and melancholy, creating a hauntingly beautiful and relatable album. On this one Curse also takes a bit more of an ethereal synthpop type approach, which I quite like. My favorite track has got to be Blood Like Love. That bassline is fire! I fully expect that one to get a lot of plays on the dancefloor! Another particularly fun and interesting track is Discocult. The single Vertigo Ego really stands out as it heavily leans into some oldschool industrial elements. One thing is for certain, Curse Mackey has a really dark view of the world, and he expresses it beautifully through his music. I really enjoyed this album, as well as checking out the other two. Definitely going to be listening to Curse a lot more! You can pre-order "Imaginary Enemies" on the Curse Mackey Bandcamp.
