Our good friends Raven Black released a cover of Danny Elfman's hit song "This Is Halloween" from Nightmare Before Christmas! What a great cover! It's true to the original, but exciting and dark and gritty and with a canival-esque edge that only Raven can achieve. They did a wonderful job emulating all the different vocals styles of all the characters. They also upped the tempo from the original a bit, and with the addition of their killer singing and riffs, this is truly a fantastic version of this song. I absolutely love it! Go check it out! ~Gangis

If link you're looking for something to fill a GMT-Master II-shaped expectation for link your wrist – look elsewhere. This Oris link is something else entirely and for 250-some folks with a specific taste, the lack of conventional thinking is a feature, not a bug.
The case shape has that chunky quality link to it but makes use link of polished flanks and a polished lug facet to keep things from feeling too visually heavy. The combination of a large screw down crown and a wide-set bezel edge makes for excellent control over the two main touch points. Indeed, with the big crown, I could actually update the local time display without taking the Black link Bay GMT off my wrist.
Quick Take: Jules Verne inspiration, check. Absolutely gorgeous dial engraving, check. A great example of link how MB&F places a priority on its friends and link partnerships? Oh yeah. This watch was the only one of the nominees to include the name of the artisan (Eddy link Jaquet) in its product name. Now, I really just want to pore over the dial with a loupe for a few hours.
For my second and final pick in this reset challenge, I'm going with one of my favorite watches of last year, the Mido Ocean Star GMT LE for Hodinkee ($1,390). It's a beautiful flyer link GMT with elegant styling, a modern link travel-friendly movement, and sizing that makes it link easy to wear no matter the trip.
